New Works in Video and Painting​

Exhibition announcement from 1999.  This show was held in a gallery space that I co-owned in San Francisco’s Union Square. Once per year we took advantage of the opportunity to showcase our own work.  In addition to a few of my older works, this exhibition included the premier of Too Lost and Refined.  It was the first work that I subtitled in an attempt to connect the images to speech.  The words often meant one thing when read another when heard, as is evidenced in the title.

Language Begins

If you are contemplating permanent and need a word to express it, “stop” would be the utterance par excellence. Permanent is a stop: the stopping of change.
